SPIN Analytics and Strategy, LLC has an opening for a Sr. Data Engineer (Ref# SDE517HS) to work in Fremont, CA and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.

Job Description

Responsible for each phase of the software development life-cycle (SDLC) including requirements analysis, design, development, implementation, testing, documentation, deployment, maintenance, and support of data warehouse / Business Intelligence (BI) applications.

Lead BI projects on enterprise data warehouses and exceed the business expectations by delivering high-quality data analytics and reports.

Identify new opportunities by data mining, data analysis, and finding ways to help business stakeholders with analytics in different areas including Finance, Salesforce CRM, supply chain, sales, and customer satisfaction. Work with various business teams to understand their challenges.

Provide strategies for data acquisition from various data marts at different level of detail. Analyze and develop enterprise-level database designs, data models, and relational data objects.

Provide a scalable design and follow enterprise BI standards so that the same data model can be leveraged by various data products within the organization.

Involved in data acquisition, ETL (extract, transform, and load), data analytics, and processing for the front-end systems.

Responsible for several onsite/offshore engagements including developing business case and rollout of enterprise-wide processes.

Define and design the data model on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Perform unit testing and user acceptance testing (UAT) and train the users on new tools and processes.

Perform extensive SQL querying of temporary tables and multi-step queries. Obtain deployment acceptance on all the critical features.

Use of Tableau, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Amazon S3, Amazon EC2, Tibco Spotfire, OBIEE, Toad, Python, SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle, SQL Server, Linux/UNIX, and Windows. Travel and/or relocation required.

Requirements

This position requires a Master’s degree or foreign academic equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems (CIS), Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related field.

• Plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation including Business Systems Analyst or related experience.
• Position requires 2 years of experience with Tableau, AWS, and SQL Server. 40hrs/week.
